Lake Garda is rich in perched castles and historic villas that reveal its ancient and prestigious soul. This tour, departing from the Port of Sirmione, includes several stops, a Bardolino wine tasting and a small stop for a refreshing dip in the waters of the Lake near Villa Canossa. The first Castle of the tour is that of Sirmione. The Scaliger Castle of Sirmione, with its battlements, walls and drawbridge, characterizes the village and offers a postcard view, which accompanies you throughout the first part of the navigation around the peninsula. We will then continue towards the Scaligero Castle of Lazise, a medieval fortress with imposing towers and a wall placed to defend the village. The origins date back to the ninth century, but the current structure is the result of numerous reconstructions, the last of which was in 1381. Leaving behind the castle and its fascinating history of sieges and battles, we head towards Bardolino for an hour's stop. Here is scheduled a tasting of Bardolino wine at the Restaurant La Loggia Rambaldi accompanied by the explanation of a sommelier who will make you discover the unique characteristics of this excellence of Garda. The tasting will be accompanied by appetizers.
After the stop, the tour continues towards Garda and Villa Canossa, a stopping point for a refreshing swim in the lake and a moment of relaxation to enjoy in company.
The last stop of the navigation before returning to Sirmione is the Scaligero Castle of Torri del Benaco, a fortress of Roman origin whose current structure dates back to the 10th century. The timeless beauty of this manor, located right on the shores of the lake, will be the backdrop for the return navigation to the Port of Sirmione.
